I’m excited to introduce Kristen, our thirteenth xoBeautiful project reveal. Kristen was photographed at a gorgeous Door County WI Wedding venue. 7501 Mariner Road – One of the most Luxurious Door County Waterfront Homes. A dream location for wedding photographers Door County Wisconsin.

Kristen’s Story in her words why she wanted to be involved in the xoBeautiful project:
As a stay at home mom of two, I really don’t focus on my personal appearance too often and definitely don’t go out of my way to be the center of attention. Doing this photo shoot will be a chance to feel beautiful and empowered. It will also be a chance to wear my wedding dress again!
As you may remember from my first post, I mentioned that I had loved ones fill out a fun survey about each lady. Kristen’s husband, Kirk filled this one out for her.
Describe her in 4 words or less: Beautiful, Smart, loving, adventurous
Why do you feel she needs this day to feel beautiful and be a model for the day? My wife needs this day feel beautiful because she is a very busy stay at home mother. She doesn’t get to be all done up that often anymore and I know she really enjoys it. She deserves this day.
When were you most proud of her? The day she gave birth to our daughter. She was adamant on giving birth all natural and without any pain relievers. She ended up having back labor and from what I hear and seen was a very painful experience. She handled it amazingly. I was extremely proud of her.
What do you wish for her in life? I wish that she will have a long loving marriage with a long list of unforgettable happy memories with our children.
What is her dream job? Her dream job would be to become a doula, which she is currently working on.
Does she have any nicknames? Kritten
And of course, I wanted to hear details from her wedding day!
We were married January 7, 2013 in Destin, Florida wedding. It was a very small, simple ceremony on the beach with mainly Kirk’s family attending. We were fortunate that during our entire stay there, our wedding day was the only nice day! It was warm and so sunny that we couldn’t even see haha. Beautiful day. We had the reception a month later in Ironwood, Michigan and it was a disaster. I wasn’t feeling very well and thought that I was just hungry, but it turns out that I had norovirus. I managed to make it through our “first dance” before I ran to the bathroom and vomited all over my dress. (Don’t worry, we had it dry cleaned) I never got to toss my bouquet, slice my cake, or do any of the other fun reception festivities. We have no pictures from that night because I had to be drove back to the hotel so early. I do not regret anything though because that’s just the type of luck we have haha. Did I mention that Kirk had strep throat during the actual wedding? Craziness.
