Kate & Chad
Crivitz, Wisconsin Engagement Session
Governor Thompson State Park, Crivitz, Wisconsin
Words from the Bride to be:
How he proposed-
“Chad and I have been dating since we were in high school, and I’ve learned over the years that he is anything but predictable when it comes to planning surprises. He also loves adventuring and the outdoors, regardless of the temperature outside, so when he surprised me on our 5 year anniversary by planning a canoe trip (in November), I just had to laugh…and bundle up!”
“I never thought Chad would propose on an anniversary-he’d consider it too predictable. (He’d also made up an extravagant lie about a cool watch he’d gotten me for our anniversary, so I suspected nothing). After breaking through ice to launch the canoe and few hours of canoeing, we stopped for a much needed lunch by the campfire of a canoe-in campsite in the Kickapoo River. Chad tried setting up the camera on the tripod to get a photo of us by the fire. Little did I know, he was setting up the camera to record much more than a campfire picture. After a few moments of wondering why the camera didn’t flash after he’s hit the button, I looked over to see him fumbling in his pocket before getting down on his knee. Although the shock made it hard to speak, it was the easiest decision I’ve ever made!”
About the session and their experience-
“I wanted our engagement pictures to capture the spirit of our relationship by taking a row boat out onto the outlet of the lake I grew up on and Chad and I fish, ski, swim, and canoe on. We also wanted to take a trip to one of Marinette County’s waterfalls since it’s one of our favorite summer spots. Jen braved the winter cold with us to make my vision a reality. The photo shoot was a blast, and Jen kept us upbeat and relaxed the whole time. I truly can’t recommend Magdalene Photography enough! We are so thankful and excited to decorate our first home with these photos in just a few months.”
