Elijah is the picture of smiles and happiness. Although you would never know the battles that he faced and how much him being her today is a miracle. Elijah was born with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, commonly named CDH. CDH is a severe birth defect which occurs when the diaphragm fails to fully form, allowing abdominal organs to migrate into the chest cavity and preventing lung growth. Through many surgeries and 117 days in the NICU he is here today smiling and a true joy to be around. Photographing him and his parents truly makes me feel like this is what I was meant to be doing. The joy of being able to capture his smiles, dancing, singing and the love his mom and dad have for him is what life is all about.
